How To Connect With The Spirit Of Your Home

Did you know your home has a spirit of its own and you can connect with it?! Well it does, you can, and it is easier than you think. Marie Kondo gives many a taste of connecting to their homes when she greets a home before she begins organizing. I learned about the spirit of my home many years ago when I was trying to sell my house. More about that later.
In this love letter, I’ll share my real life experience, teach you how to connect to your home, and when you should. After you read this you may want to cleanse your space before connecting to clear out other energies. Calling on the spirit of your home will literally change the energy of your space and you won’t be the only one to notice.
Connecting To My Home
After 3 months of being under contract in the sale of my house, I had this nagging feeling the deal was going to fall through. None of the professionals were listening, so I went to my shaman. She told me the current buyers were not going to get the loan. Before I even got home from my shamanic session, my realtor called confirming this and my gut feeling about the whole experience.
During my session, the shaman met with my house’s spirit. The home went by the name Bell and she was very poised. Bell wanted children running through her hallways. She wanted the leaves that had piled up along her side walls cleared. She wanted flowers.
I listened; I got Bell some flowers and cleared up the leaves. Then something unbelievable happened, she started playing music.
As impossible as it sounds, one day shortly after, I heard violins. I looked outside expecting to see a car parked out front with the radio on. No car to be found. I listened closer and closer only to realize the music was coming from the basement. As I went down the stairs it stopped.
Needless to say, the house felt more alive after connecting to its spirit and honoring its requests. It went back on the market and sold to the first family who viewed it. The true confirmation for me, about Bell’s musical ability, was when my father asked,“Where’s that music coming from?” as we packed up my house. There was no explanation other than Bell herself, as the basement was empty at that point.
How To Connect With Your Home
First things first, let go of your logical mind and drop your awareness into your heart.
Close your eyes and ask your heart where you should connect to your home’s spirit.
Sit or stand in the area of your home you feel called to.
Place your hands or your bare feet here.
Breathe in a few deep breaths to let go of all expectations. Allow whatever you need to flow right to you. Trust the answers you are given.
Now speak to your home like you would a loved one.
Tell it all of the things you are grateful for. For example, “I am so grateful that you shelter and protect me. Thank you for keeping me warm and letting the light shine through your windows. I love how my family gathers in your beautiful kitchen. This is my favorite place to be”.
Ask your home what it would like from you or any other questions you have.
Allow the answers to come and then thank it for connecting with you.
You’ll be amazed how the energy of your space shifts to support you even more when you connect and honor the spirit of your home. A sacred space, becomes your entire residence as the love expands out into all of the rooms.
When To Connect With Your Home’s Spirit
Any time you feel called to connect to your home, you should. Put an offer in on a house? Connect. Applied for an apartment? Connect. These are the perfect times to speak to the spirit of your dream living space before you even move in. Connecting to the spirit may even land you that house, apt, etc if there is “competition”.
When you first move in, when you or someone else is moving out, or when things have been feeling stuck or off, these are all good times to connect to the spirit of your home. It can help you get insights into what’s energetically going on.

The more love you fill your home with, the more that energy will impact your time in it.
