How Hypno-Reiki Sessions Work: What To Expect

A Typical Session Structure

During a hypnoReiki session, the healer will typically guide you into a relaxed state using a hypnotic technique called an induction. This is to get you into a peaceful trance state where you will feel completely at ease and comfortable.

Phase 1: Hypnotic Induction

Letting go and finding yourself present in the moment, the hypnotist may use techniques such as:

Deep breathing exercises to activate your parasympathetic nervous system

Progressive muscle relaxation to release physical tension

Visualization to guide your mind into a receptive state

Positive affirmations to begin reprogramming limiting beliefs

Countdown techniques to deepen your trance state

You'll remain fully aware and in control throughout the session. Hypnosis is not sleep. It's a focused state of heightened awareness where you can hear everything and allow in suggestions that are for your highest good.

Phase 2: Reiki Energy Healing and Hypnosis

Life force energy is then channeled through a Reiki practitioner. This may be a second person present for your session or someone who practices both Reiki and hypnotherapy/hypnosis. Your healer may touch you with their hands or send the energy to you without touch, like a radio wave.

Reiki energy may be felt by you as:

  • Physical sensations: Warmth, tingling, pulsing, or waves of energy moving through your body

Simultaneously you will be verbally guided through the subconscious work. Balancing the chakras verbally or letting go of what arrises. You will be empowered and intuitively guided through the session that is a co-creation between you, your higher-self, and the healer.

Phase 3: Integration and Awakening

Your practitioner will gently guide you back to full waking consciousness, often incorporating:

Post-hypnotic suggestions for continued healing and positive change

Grounding techniques to help you feel centered and present

Gentle awakening at your own pace, ensuring you feel refreshed and alert

After Your Session

It's normal to feel:

  • Deeply relaxed and peaceful

  • Slightly spacey or "floaty" (this will pass)

  • Energized or sleepy (everyone responds differently)

  • Emotionally lighter or more clear

  • Thirsty (drink plenty of water)

You may follow the above practice and intend more calming and relaxing visuals, affirmations, etc. This can dramatically improve sleep quality and emotional processing.
